Trinity is STILL MY Name

Hi there! My name is Trinity (Berchtold) Burbank. But my friends and family call me Trin. Many of you find the name familiar from the Positively Shining Facebook page. I've been posting there in the afternoons for a little while now. Some of you may have followed my blog before—It's been about a year since I blogged!—and then there are those of you who have known me for years or even decades. Whatever the case may be, I'm so glad you are here. I'm FINALLY back to blogging! For those of you who used to read my blog, Trinity is STILL My Name, my first few posts will probably be familiar, as I will be posting some getting-to-know-me posts and revamping some old posts, so the Shiners and Shinettes (Positively Shining Fans) can get a better idea of who I am and what I'm about and the rest of you can…well…get to know me all over again. :)

When Melissa Lopez asked me to post on her page, I was so flattered, humbled, and very honored. Melissa's positive outlook and bubbly personality are contagious and I was excited to be a part of it! I soon learned that the page really does make a difference to people. The page is all about finding the positive side of all of life's crazy situations and knowing that even in the darkest of times, there's something good that can come of it. I've had more than one occasion where I posted something and had one of the fans comment and say, "That was just what I needed today, thank you!" This page has really helped me stay positive when I'm having "one of those days" as well. So, if some of you haven't checked it out, you really should! We have Motivational Monday, Topple-Your-Troubles Tuesday, Words-of-Wisdom Wednesday, Thankful Thursday, and Funny Friday.

Well, now, on to a little more about me…
I'm a small-town girl with strong country and military ties. I grew up in and still reside in Brigham City, Utah. I spent much of my time on one or the other of my grandparents' farms, especially on the weekends. My Dad served in the US Air Force and then worked at Hill Air Force Base for well over 20 years. I'm a coffee lover/addict by day and a wine lover by night. I'm a gadget junkie, purse/shoe addict, scrap-booking/craft enthusiast, and blogger who loves to read. I also love all types of music, am a sucker for a great quote, and I absolutely love to cook. Last, but certainly not least, I'm a wife and mom and work-at-home medical transcriptionist. There's definitely a little tomboy in the mix; I love to go camping, fishing, hiking, 4-wheeling, and I rather like playing in the mud. I also have a major appreciation for old muscle cars. There's friendly "Mustang vs. Camaro" banter going on between my husband and me on a regular basis. All in all, I'm a relatively normal person with just enough quirkiness and clumsiness to keep things interesting (*wink, wink*).

I really do love to write and express myself best through writing. I love to blog, but am pretty busy with working part-time at home, volunteering at my son's school, and taking care of the household, so I have a hard time keeping up with it like I should. So, when Melissa suggested joining forces, it really seemed like a perfect fit. And, hey, we already work so well together on the Positively Shining Page! So, Welcome!…or welcome back!...whichever the case may be. This should be fun!...Stay tuned…

Spirits Up...It's Monday!

Happy MONDAY Shiners & Shinettes!  I hope that everyone has had a great weekend.

SPIRITS UP ladies & gents!  Yes, it is Monday, and for many Monday is full of dread even beginning from the start of Sunday morning.  Trust me I totally understand how you may feel because I used to be one of those people.  Nevertheless, I said that I would not let the trials of a single day steal my thunder! (Humph…Its mine-mine, all mine dang it)

For many, Monday’s mean, drama from the alarm clock going off, being stuck in traffic, being late for work, to that annoying person on the job.  Yeah…I have been there as well.
Well from this day forward, I say let’s change the way we think about Monday.  Darlings we have >>>LIFE<<< and NOTHING trumps that.

First things first, let’s not speak life into having a bad Monday.  I feel that this is where many go wrong.  I know-I know the weekends do go by pretty quickly, but cursing Monday is not helping when its 6am and we have to start the day.Trust me I know all about the foolery that is dying to wreak havoc on the rest of our day and it will if we let it!  Well it’s time to check the dreaded Monday blues and get out spirits wayyyy up!

Let’s try a few things before we start shall we the day!

Let’s get our spirits up!  I think by putting ourselves in good spirits will set the tone of the day.  I love uplifting music first thing when I wake in the morning.  With that, let’s add positive words and a pretty cool outfit!  (Wink)  For me, best way to have a good Monday and get through it without the dread, is to affirm that nothing will shake my positive spirit.  I know by this time, we are at work and the shenanigans will begin.

I know the morning meeting is about to start, let’s ignore the office butt kisser, and repeat:”I will NOT be totally annoyed during this meeting.  No, I do not want to be here but I am setting the tone of my day.  Next, fake it!  Yes I said it…this IS MONDAY we are talking about here!  Even if you see that the foolery that makes you dread Monday rising, fake it, dip, & dodge the best way you can.  If you have to avoid some folks, smile when you don’t feel like it and do it all while keeping your spirits up!

All it takes is one person, or situation, and it can be all over before it starts.  Do not allow that to happen!! Take a deep breath and repeat: I am in charge of how MY day will go and end; I will NOT let anyone steal my bleepin’ thunder!  Even when you say that…your spirits should be up because you are now owning your Monday.

So who’s got this…YOU do! Why because you TOTALLYYYY own Monday!

Do you dread Monday's?  If so how do you make the best of it?

Back in Effect

Well-well-well guess who is BACKKKKK???! US That’s who!

Goodness gracious…I cannot believe that I have not blogged in over 5 months.  I know that life really gets busy but I have to step back and say “Really Mel?? Set the time aside and get back to what you really loving doing and never stop."  I do have so much going on, but that is no excuse to just stop and not give a good reason as to why. **Shakes finger at myself**

Well here is the deal…I have been working on a few projects that needed my attention and still do.  I have been adding things to my plate, more and more and guess what is going BACK on my plate and I can’t wait…blogging for all of you darlings.

Here is the kicker; I’m not coming back alone either.  See I have realized that I cannot do all of the awesome projects that I have lined up alone.  Now that I have gotten that all out of my busy bee of a mind, I have a partner and she is bleeping awesome.  I bought her on to help me run “Positively Shining” the Facebook page and she is awesomeeeeeeee! (I so wish I had sound effects for that) I thought to myself, well since I will be getting back to blogging and I KNOWWWWW that she loves to blog, I will be bringing my awesome partner along with me on this journey as well! Her name is Trinity and some of my readers may already know her and if you don’t you soon will.

Here is a picture of my awesome chica!

Trust me, when we work together we totally ROCK it out and that's what was missing!  Now that I know what was missing…guess what??? The Positively Shining blog is what??? BACK IN FULL EFFECT!!
****So this is how things are going to work from here on out, on Monday’s I will post and on Thursdays Trinity will be posting!****

So yes ladies and gents…Positively Shining is back and will NOT be taking any more unexplained absences from what she loves to do!  It SOOOO (read that dramatically…lol) has been way to long and I don’t like it and that is NOT how I-WE roll….so let get to it!

It’s on now and I can’t wait!
